Verge Fusee Pocket Watch by William Howard 1813
Fully restored English verge fusee pocket watch made by William Howard in 1813. Both the outer- and innercase bear the makers mark WH. Also the English silver lion, the anchor of Birmingham and the date letter p of 1813 are in both cases.
The pocket watch has undergone a complete restoration a few years ago. Especially the verge fusee movement has become a beautiful piece of art. It is signed O. Owens, Llanercheymedd and numbered 10629. It is running very well.
Owen Owens belonged to a Welsh family of watch- and clockmakers. Both his forfathers as his children were all in the business. Owen himself was active around the period 1775-1850 in the Welsh place Llanercheymedd.
The watch is in a very good condition. There is a small dent on the bottom of the backside and the glass has some small scratches. To remain as original as possible the glass has not been renewed. Please take a good look at all the photos!
The diameter of the outer watchcase is 54 mm and the total weight is 145 grams.
